Pitango Gelato & Coffee’s sixth location is now open at The Wharf—just in time for summer ice cream season.
The gelateria has served artisanal gelato and craft coffee since 2007, sourcing simple ingredients from around the world—such as pistachios grown in the Mt. Etna region of Sicily, Italy, and single-origin chocolates from Côte d’Ivoire—and using organic milk from grass-fed Maryland cows.
Its new location will serve 20 rotating gelato and sorbet flavors crafted with authenticity—using a traditional Italian Carpigiani freezer—as well as coffee and pastries, including signature items in collaboration with Washington, D.C. -based Vigilante Coffee, which sources from small, fair trade sustainable farms.
The privately owned Pitango also has locations in Penn Quarter, Adams Morgan, Bethesda, Reston Town Center and Baltimore’s Fells Point.
