Musical Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Plush Toy

The classic holiday children’s movie, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” has always been one of my favorites. The Rudolph plush toy is just as cute as the movie! The stuffed reindeer is soft and cuddly, but it comes alive when you press the music note on one of its hooves. Cheery voices sing the Christmas classic, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” while the plastic red nose blinks on and off.

The toy was an instant hit with all three of my young children. My almost 2-year-old laughed and pointed at it, then grabbed it and tried to bite the blinking nose. (Note, it’s attached well, but parental supervision is still a good idea for babies and toddlers.)

My 4-year-old just kept pressing the song over and over. It plays the first thirty seconds of the song, stopping after “… they never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.” My 7-year-old likes it because it reminds him of one of his favorite Christmas cartoons. I find it in all different parts of the house because the kids are always playing with it.

The plush toy looks like the original Rudolph from the holiday TV special, except with a modern twist. The inside of his ears have red with white polka dots and he wears a festive green and white striped scarf.

What’s neat about this toy is it’s basically a stuffed animal that happens to play a song. It’s not meant to just sit on a shelf like some other musical character toys. Rudolph does sit comfortably with all four hooves facing forward, but you can easily squeeze it, carry it, sit with it, play with it, sing along with it, and almost anything else you’d do with a typical stuffed animal. Although, I do draw the line at letting my children sleep with it. I love the Rudolph song, but I don’t want to hear it at 3 a.m. if someone accidentally presses the button!

The plush Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a welcome addition in helping our family spread some holiday cheer throughout the house.
