Ho-Ho-Ho! Merry Thanksgiving! Whether you’re decking the halls or basting a turkey, there are plenty of ways to show visiting family a little local magic. Here are a few family-friendly holiday happenings for this holiday weekend.

Nov. 24

The Outrun Gravity Games

Test your knowledge, teamwork, balance and coordination skills at Boro Park, located at 8350 Broad St. in Tysons, Virginia, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The experience will include fitness challenges, team-building activities and mindfulness exercises. Tickets are $25.

Nov. 25

Reston Town Center’s Annual Holiday Parade

See the 1-hour, half-mile parade along Market Street as a family this year! Kids can expect to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage (the reindeer are away training for the big day). The Claus family will make a second appearance later in the day at the tree lighting. The parade will take place at 11 a.m. and the tree lighting will follow at 6 p.m. Arrive early and pick up a parade bell while supplies last.

Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration

Visit a winter wonderland with free treats, face paintings, balloon art and more holiday cheer as CenterCityDC celebrates its 10th anniversary! The anniversary festivities will begin at 5 p.m. The annual holiday tree lighting celebration will be held at 6 p.m. in The Park at CityCenter, on the corner of New York Ave. NW and 11th St. NW.

For the holiday season, CityCenterDC will also have a commemorative handmade, limited-edition ornament for sale. All proceeds will go to Children’s National Hospital.
