Red Diaper Bag

Diaper Bag Proves Worth the Hefty Price Tag

I have to admit, when I received the OiOi Carry All Diaper Bag I was a skeptic. In the eleven months since my twins were born I have had to replace my diaper bag at least three times. I just couldn’t find one big enough or strong enough to hold all of the typical baby stuff, times two, without busting the zipper.

At first glance, I didn’t feel the OiOi bag would be sturdy enough or have enough storage for my needs. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of storage this bag actually has. One of the main zippered compartments houses an insulated bag that comfortably kept two Tommy Tippee bottles cool and fresh, a thick plastic zippered bag (where I kept their snacks and prevented crumbs from reaching the main bag), and my favorite feature of all: a large changing mat that rolls into a small manageable mat when you’re done and fits perfectly in the space that is designed specifically for it. No more folding and bunching and stuffing a bulky changing mat!

The wall of the bag also has a piece of elastic separated into three sections. I’m using those to hold their spoons as it makes most sense and can‘t think of anything else that will fit there. The other zippered compartment is a large open space with a small zippered pocket on the wall. I was able to fit a large amount of diapers, a change of clothes for each baby (down to socks) and an extra pack of wipes (the included wipe container doesn’t hold enough for our needs).

Surprisingly, I still had plenty of space available for more; and I hadn’t even touched the side elastic pockets or the front zippered pockets! After just a few days of using it on trips to the mall, grocery store, library, etc., I was in love; but I thought it needed to pass the test of all diaper bag tests…a day trip!

Before we headed out early in the morning, I made sure everything was packed. I doubled the diaper stash, added the twins’ lunches and snacks, placed their water bottles in each of the elastic side pockets, slipped my phone, pocket camera and a tube of lip gloss in the small zippered front pockets and we were ready to go. I’m glad to say, the bag passed the functionality test with flying colors.

But wait… there’s a bonus to this bag! The design is very trendy, modern and fashion-forward. Totting this thing around made me feel like the uber-cool nanny and not the mom of five. The red faux leather is very soft and smooth and the bag itself is lightweight, unlike other diaper bags I’ve encountered. There are also five small metal pegs on the bottom of the bag to protect it when it’s laid on the floor. The bag comes as a tote with small handles; but also includes a removable, adjustable strap so that you can wear it as a shoulder bag or open the strap further to wear it as a messenger bag across your chest.

I will add though, when I saw the $169 price tag I thought that was way more than I would ever spend on a diaper bag. But now that I have used it, I just wish I had thought of getting this bag originally instead of spending more than that amount on all of the bags I had to replace.
