Born Free Active

My daughter, now eight months old, loves the bottle, and so do I. She has acid reflux, so feeding has been difficult. She does not like the orthodontically designed nipples and goes for the straight ones, like those that moms are given in the hospital.

At first glance at the Born Free ActiveFlow Baby Bottle, I thought, “Small parts. Not for me.” But I found that it is remarkably easy to clean and worth dealing with two extra parts.

The activeflow vent, which comes in two pieces, is easily removable and cleanable. I have the classic plastic 9-ounce bottle, which is yellow. I have had fancier and cuter bottles, but I like my nofrills Born Free bottle much better. It has a wide neck and short body, so it is easy to clean the bottle; both my daughter and I can easily hold the bottle for feedings. If you want a little pizzazz for your bottle, choose the deco version of the same bottle: It features little blue birds and trees. Bottles are also available in the smaller 5-ounce size.

The ActiveFlow technology is great for my daughter‘s reflux. Born Free’s ActiveFlow technology allows her to control the flow of formula: The harder she sucks, the more she gets. It also helps reduce the ingestion of air during the feeding process, reducing colic. The bottles are like most bottles today: BPA and PVC free, as well as dishwasher safe.

I would purchase these bottles for my child and as a gift. You can purchase Born Free ActiveFlow bottles from major retail stores, such as Target, Toys/Babies r Us and buy buy Baby. A threepack of the bottles averages $21.99. Buy Buy Baby was the most expensive place to purchase the bottle.
