Safe Swimming Fun for National Water Safety Month

According to the Centers for Disease Control, drowning is the leading cause of accidental injury-related death among children ages 1 to 4. Goldfish Swim School is working to address this statistic through its Safety Day during National Water Safety Month. The event, which will be held May 16, will provide children and families with lessons on safety precautions that can be taken while in and around water and lifesaving procedures that can be performed in case of an emergency.

Families are invited to attend the event to learn from the swim school’s lifeguard certified staff about recognizing risks, implementing strategies and preparing for danger in case of an emergency. It is free and open to the public and will feature various activities, including:

  • Water safety tips from Goldfish and safety professionals
  • Family swimming with certified life-guards on duty
  • Fire trucks and rescue personnel
  • Face painting
  • Fun snacks and prizes

When: May 16, 2015 from 2:00-4:30
