Feeling a little DIY lately? There are plenty of recipes for at-home beauty and skincare to try! Here are a few of my favorites:
Tinted Lip Balm
Mix your favorite lipstick with shea butter and heat for about 15-20 seconds in the microwave.
Leave-In Conditioner for Hair
Mix equal parts of conditioner and olive oil to three parts water. Pour into a spray bottle, shake and apply. (Make sure you avoid spraying your roots to keep excess oil at bay.)
Beachy Waves at Home
Do you like the wavy, piecey look your hair gets at the beach? Achieve a similar look by combining about 2 tablespoons of sea salt to water in a spray bottle. Apply while hair is damp and blow dry with a diffuser or let air dry.
Everyday Facials
Give yourself a professional facial with these two steps. First, exfoliate skin. You can either create your own exfoliating face scrub or use an exfoliating tool, like a Clarisonic Mia. To make your own exfoliating face scrub, mix equal parts warm olive oil and brown sugar. Add honey until the mixture is thick enough to spread. Scrub for several minutes and rinse with warm water. Next, mix the whites of two eggs and two tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt. Stir, then apply the mask to your face for a few minutes. Rinse gently.
Easy Updo
Achieve a perfect ballerina bun using a sock! Cut the toe off an old sock (preferably one that matches the color of your hair too!). Roll the fabric of the sock down until it resembles a doughnut. Pull your hair into a ponytail using an elastic band. Place the ends of the ponytail through the sock doughnut and then pull the ends up and over the sock. Tuck the ends under. Continue to roll and tuck until you reach your scalp. If there are any untidy strands remaining, pin them down.
