Bull Run Scrabble and Chess Club

Teens and adults. Meet up at the library to play scrabble or chess with a small group of dedicated players. We will provide the boards, you bring the words! 1 p.m., FREE, Bull Run Regional Library, Manassas, VA. 

National Symphony Orchestra Community Concert

For the first time in decades, the NSO will perform a free concert at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception! Program includes gorgeous musical works from Wagner, Holst, Debussy, Respighi and more. 7 p.m., FREE, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C.

Blast from the Past! D.C. Decades Fest

Take a trip through the ‘80s into the 2000s at this fun, family-friendly Decades Fest! Come experience musical nostalgia with a DJ, live bands, food, drinks and costume contests! All ages welcome. 4 p.m., $20, kids 10 and under, FREE, The Bullpen, Washington, D.C.

2019 Craft Market

Reston’s favorite indie craft market is back again at Lake Anna Plaza! Enjoy unique products, gems and goodies from various local vendors and enjoy an adjacent Farmers’ Market while you’re there. 8 a.m., FREE, Lake Anne Plaza, Reston, VA.

Cardboard Boat Regatta 2019

Try out something unique this weekend by heading out to Springfield for a Cardboard Boat Regatta! Cheer on local racers of all ages as they work to paddle their homemade cardboard vessels through a fun and entertaining course. It’s a must-see! 9 a.m., FREE, Lake Accotink Park, Springfield, VA.
