The American Veterans Center to Host 12th Annual National Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day is Monday and American Veterans Center (AVC) is hosting the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC, which is the biggest Memorial Day parade in the country with hundreds of thousands in attendance honoring our nation’s veterans from WWII onward. It will feature celebrities like Gary Sinise and have musical performances by Phil Vassar, John Michael Montgomery, and more.

When: Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day)


  • Largest Memorial Day parade in the nation.
  • Televised nationwide to over 1.5M viewers on Reelz channel, and broadcast live to our troops stationed around the world via the Pentagon Channel.
  • In total, there will be over 40 stars (from military General) participating.
  • The Parade draws 100k+ every year in attendance.
  • In addition to the many veterans taking part and attending the parade, it will also include floats, high school marching bands from across the country, service members, local and national dignitaries, and numerous service organizations and clubs.

Special military tributes for 2016 include:

  • A Salute to the World War II generation on the 75th anniversary of Pearl the U.S. entry into the war.
  • Recognition of the ongoing 50th anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War.
  • A tribute to those who served and sacrificed in Operation Desert Storm on the 25th anniversary of the war. Joining the parade will be hundreds of veterans of the Gulf War in the largest reunion of veterans since the 1991 parade along Constitution Avenue welcoming them home.
  • Remembering the 15th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001.
  • More than 1,000 active duty military personnel.

  • Gary Sinise, film and television actor and famed supporter of our troops.
  • Joe Mantegna, Tony award-winning actor and star of Criminal Minds.
  • Robert Irvine, celebrity chef and U.K. Royal Navy veteran.

With musical performances by:

  • Country music star Phil Vassar.
  • Country music star John Michael Montgomery.
  • Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell.
