  • Rochambeau, the French International School, is an independent and coeducational day school, Beginning in preschool (age 2) through 12th grade. Our beautiful two campuses in Bethesda, Maryland, located a short distance from one another, are the home to a vibrant international community representing more than 80 nationalities.
    Founded in 1955, Rochambeau provides an international and caring environment that welcomes students of all backgrounds, nurturing them to become plurilingual, confident, and open-minded critical thinkers. We offer our students a rigorous curriculum in French and English leading to either the French Baccalauréat and its bilingual international options (BFI) or the International Baccalaureate (IB). We are the only school accredited by the French Ministry of Education in the Washington DC area.  Rochambeau also belongs to the Mission Laïque Française network, the International Baccalaureate Organization, is accredited by the AIMS, the Association of Independent Schools in Maryland and by The Maryland State Department of Education.
