Mom Review: Disney On Ice Presents Treasure Trove

You step into a world of fantasy when you sit down to watch Disney on Ice’s Treasure Trove. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy start the show, telling the audience they’re on a hunt to find animated treasures. Right away, my 2-year-old starting pointing and waving at his favorite characters. The show is very high energy and the pace is kept up with songs from the hit movies.

The show combines all the pageantry Disney is known for with their beloved characters, beautiful costumes and music, along with world-class skating. The first half of the show features Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. There were plenty of gasps and squeals of delight as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan flew high above the arena and shrieks as a giant crocodile came out on the ice!

After intermission, the crowd enjoyed songs and ice dancing from The Lion King and Aladdin. The audience went crazy when Simba and Nala were doing a couples skate and Nala was balanced high above Simba’s shoulder. Kids were on the edge of their seats when Jasmine and Aladdin went on a real magic carpet ride high above the ice! My 4-year-old daughter’s favorite part was when Snow White, Ariel, Rupunzel and Tiana each skated with their princes. I really enjoyed all the couples skating with the lifts, spirals and spins.

My 7-year-old son’s favorite part was following along the storyline listening to Mickey and Minnie’s clues to find out which animated treasure was coming up next. People have often asked me how old I think kids should be to enjoy Disney on Ice shows. I think kids of all ages (including adults) enjoy the performances. Disney always changes up the performances, so it features different characters, scenery and music each time the show comes to town.
