Make Fall Tasty

Apples abound this time of year. Use the fall school holidays to escape for a family pick-your-own excursion. When you get home, extend the experience by making homemade applesauce. Quick, easy and delicious, this recipe will fill the kitchen with smells of fall.
Homemade Applesauce
4-5 apples (about 1 1/2 lbs.)
1/2 c water
1/4 c sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1.Peel the apples and core them (remove seeds). Cut the apples into large chunks.
2.Put the apple chunks into a saucepan. Add the water, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
3.Cook until soft.
4.Mash the apples with a pastry blender or in a food processor to the desired smoothness.
5.Enjoy warm or cold.
