Inchbug Labels

Baby bottles, sippy cups, water bottles, snack containers, oh my! As soon as you have a child, a collection begins to build. Whether you’re at home or out and about, it’s hard to keep track of which items belong to which child. We tried labeling bottles and cups with masking tape and sharpies, but that quickly got annoying with leftover adhesive and smudges. Inchbug offers different labeling options that are great alternative.

Original Orbit Labels

Made of an FDA-compliant, non-toxic stretchy rubber material (the label reminds me of those rubber message bracelets that are currently popular), the Original Orbit Labels provide a great option for personalizing baby and toddler beverage containers (baby bottles, sippy cups, water bottles, etc.). The design is non-adhesive, making the labels reusable on different items as your child grows from bottles to sippy cups.

The label stretches to fit around a bottle/cup and then snaps back for a snug fit so it can’t be moved by little fingers. An added bonus is the labels are dishwasher, microwave and sterilizer safe so they don’t have to be removed for cleaning.

While we never had to deal with labeling things for daycare, I have many friends who label multiple bottles, cups and containers each day with permanent markers and tape, only to have to remove them each night and start over the next morning. The Orbit labels would save a ton of time each day since they stay put!

Each order contains four identical personalized labels for, in my opinion, a great bargain at $12.95. Two lines of 17 characters each can be customized to your liking. In addition to the custom text, the labels are offered in eight different colors and have four icon choices (star, flower, heart or smiley face) which can be added for a small extra fee. These would be perfect for daycare, camps, playgroups or any other situation where you need to have beverage containers for your child that could get mixed up with others. The Inchbug website even suggests the labels can be used for college-bound teens to label toiletries or other bottled items.

Rectangular Adhesive Labels

Inchbug’s Rectangular Adhesive Labels come in sheets of 20. They are completely customizable, with two lines of 22 characters and the choice of one background color and an icon set. Multiple icons sets provide options for a wide variety of interests: aliens, ponies, sports, nature, cars/trucks, etc. The labels are 3”x ¾” and are listed as microwaveable and dishwasher-safe.

We used them to label toys, a sippy cup, an iPad and my preschooler’s batting helmet for T-ball. The label did well in the dishwasher and the microwave – they still looked brand new. I was skeptical of their claims, but they held true!

They are great for quickly identifying items when mixed in with a bunch of other children’s’ things. One thing to remember, as directed by Inchbug, is to ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the label. These labels provide a “set it and forget it” option for labeling, so they are ideal for anything that needs personalizing.

The one negative is the labels are not always easy to pull off and will leave behind adhesive, so they are a more permanent option. They complement the Orbit Labels well, as they can take care of labeling anything that the rubber band style label won’t fit properly.

Both of these labeling items are a great option for personalizing your child’s gear. They would also serve as a unique and practical gift item for birthdays, holidays and baby showers.
