Grandma’s Sugar Cookies Recipe

This holiday season, try this delicious Sugar Cookies Recipe from FAMILY member Cynda’s grandma! Whether it be for Santa, for a cookie exchange or just to enjoy with the family – you can never go wrong with a delicious recipe.

 

Ingredients:

1 c. butter (or ½ c. Crisco and ½ c. margarine)

1-1/2 c. sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

3-1/2 c. flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. soda

½ tsp. salt

 

Cream butter, add sugar gradually creaming till light andfluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.  Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredientstogether. Add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill thoroughly (3-4 hours orovernight). Roll on well-floured surface to ¼-1/8 inches thick. Cut in desiredshapes and sprinkle with sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oven(375 degrees F.) 6-8 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheet; finish cooling onrack.

Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
