Go Ape on a New Treetop Adventure Course at South Run

Swing through the treetops and into adventure with Go Ape at the Fairfax County Park Authority’s first woodland obstacle and zip line course. Let loose because this is going to be fun!

The Go Ape adventure company is opened a new course at South Run Park in Springfield, VA on Friday, May 5, 2017. This course, developed in partnership with the Park Authority, offers more than 100+ suspended obstacles 20 to 40 feet up in the forest canopy. There are nine exhilarating zip lines and a specially designed course for kids.

“We’re excited to become a part of the area’s active outdoor culture and offer people a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Go Ape Managing Director Chris Swallow.

Construction on the course began over the winter. This unique partnership will provide a revenue stream for the Park Authority with no public contribution towards construction, maintenance or operations, which are all covered by Go Ape.  “This is an exciting collaboration between government and the private sector to bring a unique recreational opportunity to Fairfax County residents. I can’t wait to give it a try.” said Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity.

The course offers guests a one- to three-hour trek through the forest canopy and is designed to accommodate a wide range of skill levels to mix challenge with fun. Go Ape staff provide safety training and monitor and guide visitors from the ground. Costs range from $28 for the Treetop Junior course for adventurers five and older, to $38 for ages 10 to 15, and $58 for ages 16 and up. To book an adventure, visit www.goape.com.
