Since 1974, Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) has been a beacon of empowerment, growth, and joy for children and teens with medical needs across the Mid-Atlantic. Located in Charlottesville, VA, our camp welcomes kids, with qualifying medical conditions, ages 6-17, along with their siblings, to experience life-changing moments in an inclusive, supportive environment designed just for them.
We offer diagnosis-specific sessions, mixed-diagnosis sessions, overnight and day camp options, and year-round programming to meet the unique needs of our campers and their families. Our programs are designed to help campers thrive and challenge themselves in a safe, supportive setting. Whether it’s conquering our challenge course, writing about camp experiences in our “Book of Firsts,” or making wishes during our Wishboat Ceremony at Waterfront, there are countless ways campers grow and create lasting memories.

Our mission is to provide transformative camp experiences that help campers learn to manage their diagnoses, build lasting friendships, and grow as individuals.Taking part in traditional camp activities, and developing new skills all contribute to the incredible journey that every camper takes with us. CHT is committed to inclusivity in our programming—for example, our horseback riding program provides adaptive equipment for those who may need it, giving campers an opportunity they might not have in other settings to participate and enjoy this special experience.
To ensure every camper’s health and safety, we provide 24/7 medical care throughout their time at Camp, with dedicated staff ready to support their unique needs.

As a nonprofit, we are committed to accessibility. The true cost to provide a life-changing week at Camp is $2,000 per camper, but thanks to our generous donors, we’re proud to offer a reduced nonrefundable camper fee of just $100 per camper. This ensures every eligible family can benefit from this incredible experience!
