Camp Category: Day Camp
At Round House Theatre, students of all ages and backgrounds can experience the joy of creating and sharing theatre in programs that inspire creativity, exercise imaginations, and promote artistic risk-taking! Our specific programs include:
Destinations (Grades K-3): Our budding theatre artists participate in daily activities in acting, design, and movement. Students then use their new skills and imaginations to create theatrical adventures every afternoon. Each session features a different theme—from Magical Kingdoms to Animation Adventures—with a unique destination every day. Students can attend multiple sessions and will never visit the same place twice! At the end of each week, we welcome family to join us for a celebratory sharing of our favorite creations.
Playmakers (Grades 4-6): Students work as an ensemble to write, design, rehearse, and perform an original production, which they share with family and friends at the end of the two-week session. For students who want to explore other skills, we also sessions in Improvisation.
Filmmakers (Grades 4-6): Students work as an ensemble to script, design, and act in an original film, which is shared with family and friends!
Teen Institute (Grades 6-12): Our teen programs provide a unique opportunity to explore the art of theatre in a supportive yet challenging environment. Students work to develop their skills as well as their personal artistic voices. Each session focuses on a different area of expertise while also providing opportunities for individual expression and growth. Students learn from artists/educators who are professionals in the DC-area theatre community.
