No after taste & no calories: the perfect energy solution!
When I heard there was such a drink as caffeinated water, I was very intrigued. I survived law school and a few years of practice without drinking any caffeinated drinks other than tea and soda. Then I had children, and now I will drink mochas because I just really need a caffeine boost. Problem is, these mochas come packed with calories, coffee breath and stained teeth, in addition to a hefty price
Caffeinated water: What a great idea! No calories, no sweeteners, no artificial colors and no artificial caffeine like you find in sodas. Avitae gets its caffeine from coffee beans. Avitae caffeinated water is great. Avitae is an Ohio–based company that has created a great healthy and useful product. I get my much–needed water intake, and I get the caffeine boost I need. And the best part, it doesn’t cost me more than $4 for just one drink!
Avitae caffeine water comes in 16.9–fluid ounce bottles. It makes two different measures of caffeine, depending on your need for caffeine: 45 mg (equivalent of a diet soda) or 90 mg (equal to a cup of coffee) of natural caffeine.
The bottle is sleek with a triangle shape. For the New Yorker in me, a fashionable bottle is an added bonus. The 45 mg has orange lettering and an orange top. The 90 mg has red lettering and a red top.
I was a little hesitant when I read on the bottle that it had no calories because I am so used to seeing that with diet drinks. I had never imagined you could add caffeine to water, so I was anticipating a flavor. To my wonderful surprise, there was no flavor: The water tasted like water! There is absolutely no after taste.
Now you ask does it work, is there really a caffeine kick. Well, unless my mind is really powerful, I definitely felt the effects of the caffeine. I drank the 45 mg bottle first, and I felt awake about 20 minutes later. My husband drank half of the 90 mg bottle and felt the effects slightly; he did not complain of any after taste, either, and he is a chef.
Some would call me cheap because I pinch my pennies very tightly when I can. So when I say I would buy Avitae’s caffeinated water all the time, it must be worth my spending my pennies. The best part is that it does not cost a lot of pennies to purchase it. If you go to the company website and click “order online,” you are directed to thirstmonger.com. From there, you can order a case of 12 bottles for only $12.99 plus shipping (to my house, shipping is approximately $10). That is less than $2 a bottle and not much more expensive than bottles of un-caffeinated spring water. You can also purchase online at Amazon.com or in your local Safeway or Walgreens store. It is more expensive on Amazon ($18.28), but if you have prime and do not have to pay for shipping, it works out to be a little cheaper than ordering it directly from the company online.Avitae Caffeinated Water
