Winterfest of Lights
200 125th St., Ocean City, MD 21842
As seasons, summer and winter are very different. However, the Winterfest of Lights ensures that one thing they have in common is the light they bring to the skies! With endless displays of sparkling lights combined with animated light displays along park paths, this festival invites families to sip hot chocolate, take a picture with Santa and participate in a collective craft.
Open now through Dec. 25, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, and daily from Dec. 25 to Dec. 31

Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum
813 S. Atlantic Ave., Ocean City, MD 21842
From showcasing the cultural and natural history of Ocean City to documenting the historical work of the United States Life-Saving Service and preserving the 1891 structure that serves as the Ocean City Station, the Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum does much to draw in curious visitors. Its diverse exhibits include a video collection and sands from around the world, making it a unique location any time of year—but especially in the colder months when beachgoers are looking for indoor entertainment.
Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Ocean City Boardwalk
698 N. Atlantic Ave., Ocean City, MD 21842
Though the Ocean City Boardwalk is a go-to destination in the summer, its Pier still offers places to retreat from the cold such as arcades and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! A century-old construction, the boardwalk allows families to enjoy picturesque views, dine at restaurants and eateries (some of which are almost a hundred years old) and play as they go. Since there are fewer crowds in the wintertime, the boardwalk is also open to pets and activities such as bike riding and roller blading.
Open 24 hours daily; hours of businesses vary.

Art League of Ocean City Center for the Arts
502 94th St., Ocean City, MD 2184
While winter might feel like a season of endless indoor time, that time can be put to good use in many different ways. It’s a great opportunity for families to discover the artist within them by paying a visit to the Art League of Ocean City Center for the Arts. From online and in-person themed exhibits to raffle events, art classes and upcoming Holiday Artisan Fairs, the center proves that the language of color is understood by all.
Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Assateague Island National Seashore
7206 National Seashore Lane, Berlin, MD 21811
A short drive away from Ocean City, a day trip to Assateague Island National Seashore is the perfect way to spend your winter afternoon without the crowds typical of the summer hotspot. In addition to kayaking on the sun-dappled waters, the island also offers wildlife-centric activities that include Over Sand Vehicles (OSV) rides, wild horse sightings, natural expeditions and several opportunities to click some breathtaking pictures! There are also several learning opportunities for your children that include, but are not limited to, puppet shows, bay walks and educational conversations led by experienced park educators.
Open year-round, 24 hours daily; hours for activities may vary.
