Mead Early Learning Workbooks

Activity Books Make Learning Fun!

With summer just around the corner I’ve been thinking of how I can help my young children stay occupied and learning throughout the summer. I have found my solution in the Mead Early Learning activity workbook collection.

Designed with specific preschool and early elementary ages and grades in mind, Mead workbooks strive to focus on having fun while learning, and they do just that. My five year old loves to work on his Learning Through Brain Teasers workbook and recently learned about the parts of a plant in the Mead Learning Through Mazes workbook.

The term “workbook” may be misleading because children don’t find the pages of these Mead books work at all, they are simply fun and enjoyable.

We’ve had activity books before that were purely entertainment, and others that were drudgery and work, but Mead does an excellent job producing workbooks that teach and reinforce skills through a variety of games and using bright, colorful pictures. Each book is about 64-100 pages, providing many varied opportunities to practice skills.

I love the variety. In the 64-page Learning Through Mazes book your kindergarten or first grade child will do more than simply find their way through 64 mazes, they will also practice such skills as strategic planning, color and shape recognition, and visual discrimination while they learn material in the subjects of math, science and language arts. The kids probably won’t even realize they are learning because of how fun the activities are!

I love that Mead Early Learning Activity Workbooks are age appropriate with pictures, activities, and stories that fit the ability and interest levels of the intended children.

Each book is clearly marked on the upper right hand corner and lower left hand corner of the cover with the appropriate grade, making it easy to determine which books will work best for your children.

The Mead Early Learning activity books are also aligned to state and national core curriculum standards, so you know that what your child is learning and practicing will help them in school and the future.  Mead develops Early Learning Activity Workbooks for preschool through third grade children.

The pictures in the workbooks are also wonderful. Each page has lots of color, making the book more engaging than a standard black and white outline coloring book.

These books are far more than coloring books!  The colors and illustrations make the workbooks inviting for your learners.  And in case you find an activity tricky, there is an answer key in the back to help you out. Some of those brainteasers in the Learning Through Brain Teasers book were complicated, even when my son and I worked together to solve them!

I am excited for our summer of learning ahead, and know that we will be using our Mead Early Learning workbooks weekly, if not daily!
