Out of Sight Kidsfest
The Lions of District 22-C in partnership with Kaiser Permanente
would like to invite children of all ages to “Out of Sight Kidsfest.”
This free event is coming to the Washington Convention Center on
Saturday, November 13, 2004 from 10 am – 4 pm.
This one of kind kids wellness festival is a signature event for the
nation’s capital. Kids will enjoy learning about safety and good
health practices by participating in fun-filled pavilions that will
include exhibits, games, obstacles courses, physical fitness
activities, health screenings and interactive tools. All of the
exhibits are for and about children. It’s a day specifically
designed just for children. If you have any unwanted eyeglasses or
sunglasses, please bring them to support the Lions Eyeglass
Recycling Program. Local Lions Clubs will be on hand to collect
them.
Lions and Kaiser Permanente recognize the impact that prevention and
education has on the community at large, especially among families
with small children. This event is designed to showcase children
health and safety issues. Professionals from various health and
community organizations will be on hand to discuss the importance of
injury prevention, infant care, proper nutrition and children health
development. As well as promoting after school activities, and
literacy. Kids can also experience the life of a solider by
participating in a “mini- boot camp” obstacle course, or try the
rock climbing wall then practice dunking with the NDAA Dunking
Clinic! Or just come relax and watch Washington Metropolitan talent,
as many local groups showcase their dancing, karate, singing
talents.
Some of our interactive pavilions include: Baby Land, Cyber City,
Kids Health Zone, Sports and Physical Fitness and much more!
