My First
Child Lullaby Delivered for Mother’s Day 2005
Every once in awhile, we hear the story of someone
who, through grit and determination, makes a place
for herself in the world, then shares her good
fortune. Singer/songwriter Carla Lynne Hall is an
example of just such a person. She began her singing
career in Miami at 18; an age considered to be old
in the performing arts business. She had begun
singing in her church chorus, and fell into her
singing career almost by accident. When a friend
asked her to sing backup in a garage band, Carla
agreed. Once she began to perform live, she says she
was hooked. When the garage band broke up, she went
out looking for other opportunities to sing. Because
she did not play an instrument or write songs, it
was very difficult for her. She was very fortunate
to be able able to find people to help her and
launched her career; first in Miami, then in New
York. She became an accomplished songwriter and in
2002 she released her first CD, Front & Center, on
her own independent label, Moxie Entertainment. She
is known as the DIY (do it yourself) Diva! She is
thrilled with her success and is willing to share
her knowledge with others who want to establish
themselves in the performing arts business through
her newsletter, classes and guest appearances.
Her latest endeavor is lullabies. In 2004 she
produced “My First Child,” a lullaby that
“celebrates the bond between mother and child.” Her
song attracted the attention of celebrity moms like
Courtney Cox and won the support of moms everywhere.
The song was written by her friend Nil Lara, and has
gained popularity as a party favor at baby showers.
It has become so popular Carla started a web page to
meet the demand. Packed with creative ideas for
themes, menus, games, and even a section on baby
shower etiquette, her creative style, warmth and
altruism come through loud and clear. Visit her baby
shower web page at
www.moxiebabyshower.com.
My First Child has become so popular that Carla
plans to release the song as a single on CD for
Mother’s Day 2005. In keeping with her generous
nature, she will donate one dollar from each CD sold
to the March of Dimes. For more information about
